Grip strength is a proxy for total body strength and one of the best-validated predictors of future disability and mortality. It takes two minutes to measure and is remarkably hard to fake.
What it covers
- Maximal grip strength, both hands
- Five-repetition maximum strength testing
- Lean mass and muscle distribution from VISBODY
- Comparison against age and sex norms
How it is performed
A calibrated dynamometer for grip, plus supervised strength testing on the training floor.
How to prepare
Avoid heavy upper-body training for 48 hours. Tell us about any hand, wrist or shoulder injury.
How we read it
Alongside lean mass. Strength that falls while lean mass holds usually points to a neural or recovery problem rather than a muscle one, and the protocol differs accordingly.
