The gut microbiome influences how you extract energy from food, how strongly you respond to carbohydrate, and how much inflammatory signal your gut produces.
What it covers
- Bacterial diversity and composition
- Short-chain fatty acid producers
- Markers of intestinal permeability and inflammation
- Fibre and fermentation capacity, mapped to foods
How it is performed
A home stool sample, posted to the laboratory in a kit we provide. Results take three to four weeks.
How to prepare
Collect before starting any new probiotic. If you have taken antibiotics recently, wait at least four weeks — otherwise we are measuring the antibiotic, not you.
How we read it
Primarily to shape nutrition. We are cautious here: the science is young, and we use it to guide fibre and food diversity rather than to make claims the evidence does not yet support.
